Guide to Online College Accreditation
Saturday, December 13th, 2008
When obtaining your degree online, it’s important that you make sure you’re receiving your education from a college that is fully accredited. This ensures that your degree will be widely recognized as legitimate by employers, as well as guarantee that you’ll be receiving a quality education from a school that you can trust with your time and money. Without proper accreditation, you have no guarantee that the degree you have worked hard and paid dearly for will be worth anything, so it’s incredibly important that you don’t skip this step when researching online schools.
Schools become accredited by being validated as legitimate educators by a third party, also known as an accreditation agency. These agencies generally investigate the school to ensure that the quality of education is acceptable for students. They will also find out whether or not the school operates legally, so by studying with a properly accredited school, you can rest assured that you won’t be taken for a ride.
Although accreditation agencies offer an assurance of legitimacy to schools, the industry of accreditation isn’t really regulated. It’s a voluntary process that is conducted without a lot of intervention from the government. So you will find that for as many good accreditation agencies that there are out there, there are just as many phony ones. Some schools even set up fake accreditation organizations in order to appear to have more authority, so you’ll need to do your research to find out if you’re being mislead in any way.

The difference of online to actual.
Monday, December 1st, 2008
When we say actual, it is the physical things that we can touch and actually experience first hand. Some say this is the best way to learn things but to some, it is not the only way. Online college is somewhat actual in itself except that you do not go to the actual place of learning which is a college or a university. College life is about experiencing new things on your own and to avoid getting burned out from all that studying and slight nagging from parents and though this is true, it is still easier and quite an experience to just stay at home. It is best that you should know that in a lot of cities and places on earth, online college is a very common form of education and is even quite popular already. The real question here is, if indeed it is better to have online college from home when it comes to studying. With this being said, then living on your own, far away from family is not all the time the way to go. But of course, this should not be the only basis when it comes to choosing a university of your choice. This is just a small variable as compared to the quality of the university and the type of education one is expecting to get from that particular university. I suggest that if you are not the adventurous type and that the education you are expecting is in that university that is far away then you should go for it and try out online college. But if you are the type who wouldn’t want all that hassle of supporting yourself then staying in a near by college is ok as well. Advantage of this is that the student does not have to go all the way to the college of their choice and lives in the college or university dormitory or a place nearby where they can rent out for the remainder of their stay in their university or college. For one thing, the distractions of having a family near by are not really a distraction at all. It is sort of encouraging and helpful at times, but college life is not just about all studying.

Distance is no hindrance
Saturday, November 29th, 2008
One should never look at distance as a hindrance but rather a challenge and some what an advantage. The quality of education is usually better than that of a class room since most individuals who choose distance learning to obtain their education is more self motivated and every bit as conscientious about their education as their counterpart in the class room. Distance learning or education is completing a curriculum of studies without being present in a classroom. Convenience cost of travel and other costs associated with a more traditional setting and busy schedules are just some of the reasons more students are taking course work through distance education institutions. Wouldn’t your time be better spent on studies, leisure time or even time with your family or friends? Due to today’s technology, made in part by the internet, more people than ever before are choosing distance learning over traditional class room settings as the vehicle of choice to obtain their education. There are a lot of opinions revolving and having been thought of around the small issue which is turning to a big issue of distance learning. College life is about experiencing new things on your own and to avoid getting burned out from all that studying and slight nagging from parents. In a lot of countries, distance learning is a very common thing. After graduation, the student goes all the way to the college of their choice and lives in the college or university dormitory or a place nearby where they can rent out for the remainder of their stay in their university or college.
