How To Use The Library
One of the most important places a student will visit while completing his online degree program would be the library. The library houses the books that would aid the student in his research. So one of the first major tasks the student has to do would be to get to know the library as each library has a different system.
The student should know the system of the library and how they catalog their books. If they use an online cataloging system, the student should familiarize himself or herself with the online system to easily check out books. Use the basic keywords when searching for a book. If the library uses a card catalog, the student should learn how to use the card catalog to easily find books to be used for research purposes.
The student should also know the layout of the library. You should know the librarian’s desk is so you know where to go when you need help locating a book. A library has different sections. Journals would go to one section. History books would probably go to one section. By knowing where to find different types of books, your life will be a lot easier when you start looking for books on certain topics.
Befriend the librarian. The librarian would know a lot about the different books and topics. They can also help you locate books that you cannot find. Ask them for help when looking research materials.
