On The Way to College
My sister is graduating in a couple of years from high school and she is now looking into options available for her university or college studies. Since she wants to delve into the arts, she is bent on getting a degree in the arts or maybe graphic design since she likes to draw.
She has asked me whether it would be better for her to attend online degree classes or to go and apply at regular universities or colleges. She wants to work part-time after high school and attend to university classes at the same time so she is looking into the possibility of her just studying at home.
There are so many universities and colleges in the California area and I advised her to scout for well-known and reliable schools that may offer the courses she wants online. She wants to help pay for her tuition but for now, that is not being discussed since she is only sixteen and not yet eligible to work.
At this point in time where she is now starting to decide for herself and exercise assertiveness, it is admirable of her that she is now showing signs of maturity and responsibility. And those are some of the traits that a serious university student needs in order to succeed and finish the course on time.
I just hope that she will be able to well decide for her future. As her oldest sister, I will be here to support her and help her in whatever way I can despite being thousands of miles away from her. At present, I only hope that she will be able to make a decision not based on the dictates of whim but based on what she really wants to do to help shape the future she dreams for herself.
