Getting Good Recommendation for Online College

Online colleges rely heavily on the recommendation letters that they get from the applicants. This is due to the fact that if not most, all of online schools do not entail having to do face-to-face interviews. That is why it is very important that an applicant passes top-notch recommendation letters. If you come and think about it, the recommendations can either make or break your application. To ensure that you get good recommendations, follow these tips.
Draw a list of possible recommendation writers. You should sit down and think about who could be good sources of fine recommendations. You might want to consider the following people:
· former teachers
· current teachers
· counselors
· employers
Make the best choice. Make sure that the person/persons you will choose will write positive things about you. It is also important that the recommender is reliable with deadlines and a capable writer. Avoid people you have a more casual relationship with, as well as those who only know you on a superficial level. Remember: the most obvious choice isn’t always the best.
Observe measures established by the admission office. Before talking to your chosen recommender, find out what your school requires. If your school has strict procedures, make sure to communicate those with the recommender and make is as easy as possible to follow. For example, if the recommender must mail the letter, you will want to provide an addressed, stamped envelope.
Talk to the recommender directly. Don’t tell the writer your deadline for turning in the college recommendation letter. Instead, say: “I need the letter (or the letter must be mailed) by this date.” Set your must-have date at least three weeks before the school’s application deadline.
Give background information to the recommender. Include the following documents in the information: your college application essay, your personal statement, your resume, and a list of ways you are connected to the recommender (i.e. you were in the top 10% of his Calculus course). Highlight any information that is particularly important.
Send your thanks. Let him know how much you appreciate the time and effort that was spent on your behalf.

Before, there were not so many people that can go to have the benefit or would even think of having a doctorate degree. This was said to be an advantage for just the people who have the capacity to invest in it or have the mental capability who are gifted and be granted a scholarship. For those privileged, they go off to having good careers and were considered the cream of the crop in any society. Now a days, to have a masters degree or a doctorate degree is as common as having a common bachelors degree because there are so may universities that offer and can avail scholarships to students in different ways like working it off in the campus. Earning a doctorate degree online can improve your earning potential and qualify you for a variety of prestigious career options, all while learning from the comfort of your own home. As the highest degree attainable in the United States, a doctorate degree can prepare you to work in leadership positions, university-level professorships, or other highly skilled professions.

Online education is exactly what it states and that I learning via the Internet. This type of online education is very unfamiliar to those that are not really that computer literate and to those that are used to the normal type of education which is the classroom sit down type education. For some advantages, this is very unique and very time friendly because one has the control of his own time when and where he wants to study and learn from the Internet. Another advantage is that anything online is very up to date from the news in the economy to the latest updates in technology so one will never be left out s to the updates that there are. Another advantage is that there are a lot of universities and jobs that accredit this type of education and make use or hire people that graduate from this type of educational system. But don’t worry, because just because you are not computer literate doesn’t mean that you cannot get an online education. You can always enroll first for learn the basics of having to run the computer first and go on from there. There are advantages and disadvantages in having this type of education just like with everything else in this world. A disadvantage for students that want to make use of this different and unique type of system of learning and are in a not so technologically advanced country, there might be not much jobs that would accredit and hire people that have online degrees and to have your very own and seriously creative studying style, an online education is relatively new to a lot of people.

Surviving College

College or university life need not be boring. It need not be all work and no play. In fact, being in college teaches you how to start striking a good balance between work and play. As they say, study hard, play harder. Essentially, that makes college something to look forward to.
What makes college life interesting is that you get to start making decisions for yourself. You are now able to assert yourself to do things that you think would benefit you even after you graduate from school. Responsibilities abound college life and this even starts you on becoming a more industrious person. Campus programs like camp and immersion programs expose you the realities of the real world. That life is not a bed of roses and that life is challenging outside of your comfort zone.
Popularity around the college campus is not all there is to having a happy and fulfilling college life. Sometimes, by working in the background, you realize that you can do more to become a more productive member of society. College life exposes you to things you cannot even imagine yourself doing. Our professors can influence the way you think about certain things and can even convince you to jump on doing stuff you never thought would be possible for you. This can work both ways, good or bad, but more often than not, our professors’ words of wisdoms can make a big difference in the way we see our life after stepping out of their classrooms.
Surviving college means having to survive the various degrees of diversity in the campus. We learn to accord respect to these differences as we are exposed to them. And it makes our stay in college worth the while.

How To Study Effectively

When studying, every student taking their online MBA or online education degree would want to ensure that every moment they spend with the books is worth it. So how does one study effectively? It is important that one employ effective study habits into their life to ensure that they get the most out of their education.
Set a schedule and stick by it. Make a time table. On this, write what you need to finish within a day. Make sure you give yourself a do-able schedule. Be realistic with your goals and do not over pressure yourself. Do not bombard yourself with too much work because your mind might not be able to hold so much information.
Choose a place where you get the most studying done. If you find the library conducive, head over to the library early in the morning to ensure that you would be able to get a lot of work done by the time the day ends.
Read your notes. Since you have read your book and made notes from it, concentrate on the notes. Understand what the notes saying and use this when studying.
Give yourself a fixed number of hours to study within a day. The mind can just take so much so prepare chunks of the lesson for different days to allow the information to sink in deeper.
Find out if you study better during the day or during the night. Some people work better during the day while others work better at night. Find out which one works better for you and use this to your advantage.
