The University of Phoenix Online is probably one of the most recognized and most popular of the online colleges that are out there. Due to the fact that they do a lot of advertising on television, on the radio and when you type in “online universities” in Google they are one of the first online colleges that pops up. Of course the fact that they offer numerous online degrees helps out too.
The University of Phoenix Online had been around since 1989, and holds the credit of being the first online university to be accredited. The university also has a great reputation for being a fairly good online college that offers great online degrees. Their online programs are considerable efficient that they are able to get their student to earn 27 credits in one year opposed to the 15 one would earn at a traditional college. Also they only allow 11 students per class allowing the teacher to be available more for questions and concerns. However, there are some downsides to this college. A lot of the students who have received online degrees from this university are not pleased. They found that the teachers were disorganized and there was a huge lack of communication. Also their technology seems to be in the dark ages and hasn’t caught up with recent upgrades.
