The life of an online master’s degree holder
I know of one stay-at-home mother who has three kids and living in another country, decided to give online classes a try. She has a university degree tucked under her sleeves and she used to teach little kids being an early childhood education major. Her life changed when she married and they both decided that she just stay in the house to take care of the family.
For several years, she has long wanted to get a masters degree in her chosen field because of the great opportunity that is open for people with her experience. It was then that she decided to try and apply for an online MBA degree at a university in Sydney.
Her husband decided against it but she was able to convince him to give her this chance because it will only require her to go to school twice in a month for periodical recitation examinations. At first she had a hard time adjusting to a workable study schedule because of three growing school kids who also need attention. But she was able to properly manage her time around the household and with the help of her husband, she was able to finish the course in no time and earned her masters degree that is even accredited worldwide.
She is now doing research work for a non-governmental organization which aims to develop advance learning programs for children afflicted with Down’s Syndrome. She was just very happy that she decided to pursue her dreams with the help of online education and she is now seriously considering getting her doctorate degree through the same university’s online programs.
She was able to do it because of her determination and will to succeed. Discipline and focus are essential tools in order for one to achieve success in online education. If she can do it, you can too.
